Tactical CQC Training

The system

What is Tactical CQC Training?

Tactical CQC Training is not a form of martial arts. Tactical CQC Training is a concept of self-defense and conflict management developed for the specific needs and according to the requirements and regulations of uniformed security personnel. All instruction and training scenarios are destined at mastering conflicts using the standard procedures, equipment and legal competence our target groups are familiar with.

Since potential conflicts, equipment and competence are specific to the respective field of operation, we have adjusted our instruction and training accordingly. We offer courses directed at military forces, police forces, correction officers, sky marshals etc.

Beside courses for armed security forces we also offer special education courses for medic services, flight and train attendant, train guards etc.

Our Tactical CQC Training program undergoes continual evolution. We adjust it regularly to legal and tactical changes. Besides, we are not too proud to learn from good practice we see elsewhere. If another technique seems to be better and fulfils our test criteria such as functionality, effectiveness, transferability, tactics etc., we will adapt it to our system.

Answering to a growing demand, we have developed an additional program for civilians allowing men and women alike to acquire a simple, yet highly efficient system of self-defense within a short span of time.

Why Is Tactical CQC Training so Successful?

We do not simply teach techniques but elements of a comprehensive concept of conflict management. They consist in easy movements that can be learned fast and that are applicable in many contexts. The reflexes and motion patterns are repeated in various fields of training and eventually form a bigger picture and develop into an easily transferable comprehensive and functional repertoire of self-defense and conflict management. No matter whether the attacker is unarmed or uses an impact weapon, edged weapon or firearm or whether the defender uses such a weapon, the trained reflexes and basic motion patterns are the same. It does not make sense to have a different concept for each of these constellations. This is exactly the problem with most of the classical martial arts and the main difference between them and Tactical CQC Training.

Besides, in Tactical CQC Training techniques are not trained in an isolated and rigid way but within dynamic scenarios and on various stress levels. This is a distinctive feature of our system. The difference is comparable to the one between static shotting and combat shooting in motion and, as the case may be, with darkness and other stress factors. This is the approach of Tactical CQC Training: As soon as a technique and its application are understood, training is performed as closely to real life situations as possible without endangering the health of participants.

Another advantage of Tactical CQC Training lies in the consequent integration of equipment. It is essential to protect equipment against third-party access. Also it is important to handle the situation in a way that access to one’s own equipment is possible and secured again and the situation can get under control again. Many systems focussing on unarmed close combat cultivate frontal combat and do not take the risk into account that an attacker may wrest a weapon away from the opponent, which leads to further escalation. The defender may be engaged in an unarmed scuffle too long instead of making use of his equipment and his team early, which would be more effective. This is one of the key distinctions between the practice of martial arts in uniform and a real tactical training system like Tactical CQC Training.

Another aspect worth mentioning is the consistently high quality of our training standards. In the interest of quality assurance, seminars and training modules are performed by high class instructors only. All instructors must be licensed by the technical director of Tactical CQC Training and are provided with comprehensive training materials to make sure that important contents and concepts are taught in the same way by each of them.  Additionally, all our instructors can take part cost-free in courses they have taken previously so that they can enhance their proficiency and work on details. We offer further training and skill enhancement courses for our instructors in order to assure and, if possible, heighten our quality standards.

Feedback from participants who are experienced professionals in their fields confirms to us the effectiveness and the realistic and practicable approach of Tactical CQC Training. Read more under “references”.
